Annual Pledge Drive 2017
July 2016 – June 2017

pledge_campaign_logoThe UUCWC Stewardship Committee is pleased to announce that our 2016-2017 Congregational Pledge Campaign will begin on Stewardship Sunday, March 20, and continue through Sunday, April 17.

The campaign is seeking 100% participation with a goal of raising $355,000 and supporting a budget that fully funds our expenses.

Our Pledge Campaign Sustains our Mission

Join with our members and friends in an exciting journey of discovery…

The beloved community of the UUCWC means many things to our members and friends. As we begin the celebration of our 100th year, we cherish the following reasons for seeking financial support.

We owe it to those before us and those yet to come to nurture and grow our spiritual home. Here we share life’s passages; births, deaths, joys and sorrows. We’ve been inspired by those facing mortality with courage and grace. We’ve embraced those suffering unimaginable sorrow. First and foremost, this is who we are.

We seek to reach beyond our walls, and change the world. We make the commitment to live our values by taking on challenges of social justice and civil rights for all people.

We continue the legacy of William R. Amberson, who took on the religious fundamentalists of Trenton in 1916. As a free-thinking people, we walk through these doors into a community that nourishes each individual’s quest for truth and meaning.

We harness the excitement of our own field of dreams to become a dynamic force in our community, where we share our resources and truly “stand on the side of love.”

What shall I pledge?

It takes money to sustain our church and its mission to create community, celebrate life, and change the world — about $2,000 per household. This includes our mortgage, utilities, maintenance, staffing, denominational support, insurance and other expenses. We recognize individual and family circumstances affect the ability to financially support us. We suggest using 2.5% of income as a guideline when pledging your support of our community and spiritual home.

How do I make my pledge?

Beginning on Stewardship Sunday, March 20th and for the following four Sundays, through April 17th , tables will be set up in the church lobby, staffed by Stewardship Committee members who will assist you in the pledge process.

If you pledged in the past year, an envelope containing your pledge form along with the amount of last year’s pledge will be available. Those pledging for the first time can pick up a form.

We prefer each household come prepared to complete the pledge form at a table on a Sunday and place it in the box conveniently provided at the tables.

Members may also:

  • Bring their completed form to church during the pledge campaign.
  • Mail their completed form.
  • Complete an online form through the UUCWC website.

We encourage members to set up auto-payments through their checking, credit card, or Paypal account.

What will I receive in exchange for my pledge?

In addition to having a spiritual home and supporting its mission, you will also receive:

  • A chance to live out your UU values, and the feeling of peace and contentment this affords.
  • Knowing that your giving matters and that ALL of our UU friends, staff and leaders are grateful for YOUR generosity.
  • A feeling of accomplishment, knowing that through you and the UUCWC community, our spiritual home will continue to flourish for another hundred years.
