Annual Pledge Drive 2020
July 2019 – June 2020
Heart of the Matter

The UUCWC Stewardship Committee is pleased to announce that our 2019 – 2020Congregational Pledge Campaign will begin on Sunday, February 24, and continue through Sunday, March 24.

**Special Announcement**   A very passionate and generous contributor to UUCWC has challenged our congregation by offering an additional $10,000 toward the assistant minister financing if 75% of members submit their pledges by Sunday, March 17!  Details here.

Our Stewardship theme this year is Heart of the Matter, and we hope that you will look deeply into your hearts to discern what UUCWC means to you and how it has impacted your life and your family’s lives. UUCWC is an incredible place and we need to keep pace by having healthy staffing, culture, and support systems for our growing and vibrant congregation.

To kick off our stewardship season, Rev. Kim reflected on congregational life today, what we deserve, and the spiritual journey of putting out fires. Listen to her sermon.

As Rev. Kim so eloquently states, we are at an inflection point as a growing congregation, both in size and complexity. We are asking you to increase your pledge to support the hiring of an assistant minister. Read more about this from Lori Hoppmann, UUCWC’s Stewardship Chair.

To learn more, ask questions, or share your enthusiasm for adding an assistant minister to our staff, join Rev. Kim and members of the Personnel Committee at one of the following Listening Circles:

  • Tuesday, February 26 at our quarterly Council Meeting. This time is open to all but targeted specifically for leadership. 7pm.
  • Wednesday, February 27, 7:30-9pm.
  • Thursday, March 7, 1-2:30pm
  • Sunday, March 24: Final Listening Circles offered after each service

Personalized pledge forms will be available for you to pick up in the lobby each Sunday of the campaign. You may also make your pledge using our online form. You will be submitting your pledge for the church year that runs from July 2019 through June 2020.

Read more about why your pledge is important and how to make your pledge.

Please contact Lori Hoppmann with any questions at stewardship@uucwc.org. Thank you for your support, it’s essential to our community and the success of the stewardship campaign.

Why is my pledge important?

In addition to supporting UUCWC, you will also receive:

  • A chance to live out your UU values, and the feeling of peace and contentment this affords.
  • The knowledge that your giving matters and that ALL of our UU friends, staff and leaders are grateful for YOUR generosity.
  • A feeling of accomplishment, knowing that through you and the UUCWC community, our spiritual home will continue to flourish for another hundred years.

What shall I pledge?

It takes money to sustain our church and its mission to create community, celebrate life, and change the world. This includes our mortgage, utilities, maintenance, staffing, denominational support, insurance and other expenses. We recognize individual and family circumstances affect the ability to financially support us.

How do I make my pledge?

Beginning on February 24, and for the following Sundays through March 24, tables will be set up in the church lobby, staffed by Stewardship Committee members who will assist you in the pledge process.

If you pledged in the past year, an envelope containing your pledge form along with the amount of last year’s pledge will be available. Those pledging for the first time can pick up a form.

We prefer each household come prepared to complete the pledge form at a table on a Sunday and place it in the box conveniently provided at the tables.

Members may also:

  • Bring their completed form to church during the pledge campaign.
  • Mail their completed form.
  • Complete an online form through the UUCWC website.

Thank you!
