allie_blurredThe Earth Ministry Team is committed to implementing our 7th principle of caring for our earth and its resources by ensuring environmentally sound practices are followed by UUCWC’s committees, teams and staff while utilizing and caring for our facility (grounds and buildings). In keeping with our Green Sanctuary designation by the Unitarian Universalist Association, and River-Friendly Partnership designation by The Watershed Institute, we follow good land stewardship, water and energy conservation practices. We also foster and promote “green” practices for home applications, maintain Allie’s Garden for Food Ministry programs and provide the fellowship coffee for the congregation through organic product sales.

The Earth Ministry team coordinates with other church groups to support sustainable philosophies and activities (energy audits); with other organizations to encourage recycling and reuse (bicycle collection for the Trenton Boys and Girls Club); the Sunday hiking program; and Earth Day services and events. A representative of Earth Ministry serves on the Facilities Management Team.
