Rev. Kimberly Wildszewski
Each year the staff gathers throughout the summer to think wholeheartedly about UUCWC: individual congregants, groups and ministries, anxieties and excitements; the discernment goes on. It is from such conversations that we were able to introduce Faith Forward last year, the Coming into Connection curriculum, and think more critically about the need to create a transparent path to leadership and involvement.
This year we are most excited to introduce what we are calling
Welcome Table Wednesdays!
Each third Wednesday of the month (unless falling on a holiday week) our ministerial intern, Hannah, and I will be offering three hours of potluck, worship, and education.
From 6:15-7pm come and enjoy a multigenerational meal open to the whole family. There will be a grace, brief message, and opportunity for you to connect based on what one of your ministers share, or… not!
Come 7pm, feel free to keep talking in the Crossings Room if that conversation is feeding you. However, Hannah will be offering a drop-in spiritual deepening opportunity in one room (from an hour and a half of Soul Matters’ Deep Questions, to Get to Know UU Speed Relating, and more). I will be offering Roots (the history and theology of Unitarian Universalism) and Wings (expectations and benefits of membership) on alternating months. Childcare will be available from 7-9pm.
Each third Wednesday of the month the entire church will be booked for Welcome Table Wednesdays. We ask that no committee or ministry meetings be scheduled during this time and, if you are able, begin to think of Wednesday evenings, once a month, as an opportunity for family, given and chosen, song and spiritual learning.
We can’t wait to see you there!
The first Welcome Table Wednesday will be October 17.
