Simplicity is a gift. The New Year has come and gone, and with the turning of the calendar page comes an awareness that life is short. Time is short. What will you and I do with “this one precious life”? Do we pack our schedules with busyness and therefore have little time for rest and reflection? Or do we choose to prioritize our spiritual journeys and minimize “noise” and distraction? Resolutions aside, there are fundamental changes that take place when we align our vision for our lives with our daily actions. Let’s clear out the clutter in our heads, our schedules and our living spaces and work together on aligning our actions with our deepest desires.
January Theme: Integrity
We know that integrity is about the way we act: acting in alignment with our values, acting honestly, acting faithfully. In this sense, it is forward-looking. But it’s easy to forget that integrity also is about looking backward. In other words, it’s not just about how well we act; it’s about how well we remember. Important life lessons come our way. Some of them stick and some slip away. Our integrity is determined by whether we remember them or forget, whether we hold our life lessons close or let them evaporate.
