8 Sacred Circles is a UUCWC spirit group that celebrates ancient “holy days” as determined by nature’s calendar — the summer and winter solstices, when the light and darkness are at their fullest, respectively; the equinoxes, when day and night are balanced; and four interspersed “cross-quarter” days that mark the midpoint of the seasons. Each of the eight days has a special significance, which provides a theme for the gathering. A commitment to marking each of the eight days brings a chance to fully experience being in sync with the natural cycle of life and affords a deeper appreciation of how we are all ultimately creatures of this earth.
8 Sacred Circles will gather in the Sanctuary on Wednesday, September 21, to mark the Autumnal Equinox – a time to look for balance in lives. Doors open at 7:00 with our ritual beginning at 7:30. A brief orientation for new comers is offered beforehand. If possible, kindly bring a snack to share in fellowship afterwards. E-mail 8sacredcircles@uucwc.org for more information.
