Council for Faith in Action and Auction Announce Donation Recipient for 2021

For the third year, UUCWC’s Council for Faith in Action (CFA), in conjunction with the Auction Committee, is pleased to announce that 50% of any surplus funds raised in this year’s auction (beyond the budgeted auction amount) will go to Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC).

BCOC’s goal is to connect residents with resources to thrive. UUCWC is focusing on food insecurity. Specifically, the Opportunity Council’s Food Program is Bucks County’s lead food agency for families in need. The network includes over 60 providers focused on meeting the food and nutrition needs of low-income households in Bucks County and is committed to a set of operating principles that ensure quality service and accountability. https://www.bcoc.org/i-need-help-with/food-2/food-program/

There were 83,093 visits to providers during 2019-2020. The total annual food distribution was 2,401,018 pounds. Over 4,768 senior food boxes were also distributed last year. UUCWC will be designating funds to this program.

CFA has selected a Bucks County, PA service this year to help our communities where about 50% of our congregants reside. It intends in the future to alternate designations yearly, and eventually, select a valued partner in both NJ and PA.

Previous years’ recipients have been “I Am Trenton” (2019) and “Isles” in 2020. For additional information contact faithfunding@uucwc.org.
