Outdoor Adventures Hike at Baldpate Mountain

Join UUCWC’s Outdoor Adventures hike at Baldpate Mountain on Sunday, May 18. We will meet in the Fiddler’s Creek Parking Lot at 1:00pm. This hike will be approximately 1.5 hours.

Baldpate Mountain is the highest point in Mercer County, part of the volcanic Sourland Mountain Ridge. In the early 1900’s, the land was owned by the Kuser family, who lived in their Strawberry Hill Mansion.

This hike requires some leg muscles to ascend the wide, paved road up to the ridge.  At the top of the road, there is even terrain near the Mansion. Public restrooms are available in this area.  A few parking spaces are up there for those who opt to drive up the road and join the hike from that point. Hikers will continue up a grassy trail to the ridge where, on clear days, there is a stunning view of the river valley below.

Bring water, binoculars, sunscreen, and wear appropriate hiking shoes. For more information and to let us know you plan to join us, email outdooradventures@uucwc.org
