Proposed Public Display of Banner Expressing Unitarian Universalist Values

This banner has been developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association to express our faith’s values as an ally at this time of turmoil in America.   After receiving feedback from the Black Lives Matter Listening Circles and survey, the Council for Faith in Action is proposing that UUCWC publicly display the banner on church property by the main road. This has been unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees.  The church’s by-laws require a congregational vote on any public display and a vote regarding the banner will be called at the Congregational Meeting scheduled for Sunday, April 2nd.

The UUA’s banner does not include reference to people of differing abilities. Since we believe this to be important, we will make a slight change, specifically adding “and abilities” to the statement “All genders (and abilities) are whole, holy and good”

The Council for Faith in Action will hold an information session on Sunday, March 26th, at 12:30 p.m., in the Sanctuary.  In the meantime, Sallie Dunner, Nathalie Edmond or Dan Tuft will be glad to answer any questions you might have.
