How do I sign on?
You can sign on to Realm by going to https://onrealm.org/uucwc. You could also download the Realm Connect app to your phone!
How do I create a password?
To create a secure password for Realm, you need a 15-character combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Ensure that no two consecutive characters are the same, such as in “heLLo,” and avoid using any part of your email address within the password. A good approach is to start with a short phrase and incorporate numbers and symbols into it. Your password will be considered successful when all criteria are met and indicated by green checkmarks. Remember to write down your password for future reference!
What are Recovery Codes?
After you successfully create a password, Realm will give you a list of Recovery Codes. Please screenshot or print these codes. If you forget your password, Realm will only allow you to reset your password by using one of these codes, so it’s important to keep them.
Can I change the Groups I am in?
Only administrators and group leaders can manage participant lists within groups. During the transition from ICON, we were unable to remove individuals from the existing groups, many of which are outdated or no longer active. We plan to update these groups over time, and once we are ready to grant leadership access, members will see this information reflected in their profiles. Expect these changes to take place in the upcoming church year, 2026-27.
My adult child is listed but they don’t live with me anymore. Can I change that?
Again, moving data from ICON created ‘child’ profiles for even adult children who are no longer in parent homes or affiliated with the church. If you would like to remove your child’s profile, please contact the office and we can do that for you.
Why are households named as ‘Head’ and ‘Spouse’?
The outdated terminology originates from ICON. We understand that this language can be unappealing, and we are committed to updating it; however, this process will take time as changes will be implemented manually and individually. We will prioritize this issue and address it as soon as possible.
What information can people see about me in the Directory?
You can go into your Privacy setting in your profile and choose what people see about you in the directory. If you click on your name to access your profile, you will see two buttons: “Edit Profile” and “Manage Privacy”. Click on “Manage Privacy” and choose “Anyone in the Church” to allow access to all of your information. You can also choose “Custom Privacy” to pick what information is in the Directory.
Why can’t I find certain people in the Directory?
We have allowed our members and pledging friends time to set up their accounts and select their privacy preferences. If you are unable to locate someone, it may be because they have not yet created an account. In the coming month, we will be updating privacy settings to ensure everyone is included in the directory. If you prefer not to have your information listed, please reach out to the church office church office.
What is the long-term plan with Realm at UUCWC?
When we chose Realm as our church management database, our goal was to establish a central communication hub. This would help us streamline giving, enhance our communication, and create more opportunities for engagement within our congregation. In the future, we plan to use Realm for posting calendar events, managing registrations, and organizing groups. We invite all members and friends who pledge to create an account to promote inclusivity.
