Register Now For General Assembly 2022 June 22-26 in Portland, Oregon

It’s spring and soon Unitarian Universalists (UUs) will be gathering to meet at General Assembly (GA). UUCWC has a long-standing record of having many attend this event of learning, singing, worshipping and doing the work of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA).

In 2022, we will have the option of meeting online or in-person! For those who enjoyed the convenience and accessibility of remote participation, GA will continue to offer virtual attendance with robust programming and enhanced delegate discussion tools. For those who have been missing the physical experience, GA 2022 will also feature face-to-face interactions, hanging banners, a browsable exhibit hall, meals with friends, old and new, local site attractions, and more! Consider attending online or in-person in Portland.

COVID SAFE FOR IN PERSON ATTENDANCE: All GA attendees and exhibitors are required to provide proof of Covid-19 Vaccination for in-person attendance at GA. In addition, masking is required and physically distanced seating options will be reserved in our meeting spaces. Currently, free Covid-19 testing is available Monday to Saturday from 8 am – 3 pm, by appointment or walk-in, at a testing site in front of the Oregon Convention Center. Appointments may be scheduled online.

Register here (in-person and virtual) and for on-site housing, go here.

New this year…
1) You do not have to attend GA to be a delegate (it’s nice if you did of course). ANYONE interested in what the UUA and UUs are doing and wishing to represent UUCWC can consider being a delegate. Deadline for delegate consideration is April 8.
2) You can attend in person (GREAT start to a vacation) or virtually.
3) UUCWC has some scholarship money available to assist with registration fees. The deadline for scholarship requests is April 8.
4) If you are interested on attending only as a delegate, please contact Holly Bussey da@uucwc.org. prior to registering. We need six (6) delegates to represent UUCWC and to vote on issues coming up during GA.

What happens at GA? There are Key Lecture Speakers and special worship services including:

BANNER PARADE—Yes UUCWC will be there!
Sophia Fahs Lecture – BIPOC YaYA Leaders
Synergy Bridging Worship
SOULFUL SINGING (singing meditation for all)
WARE LECTURE: Speaker to be announced.

There will be many wonderful sessions including these highlights:
BIPOC Communities for Environmental and Climate Justice
Facing Down Classism to Liberate Our Faith Community
Community Action Circle (UU College of Social Action)
REWIRE: Rewiring Your Racial Consciousness

Please check out the agenda for this year’s meeting and check back regularly to see how our program is shaping up.

Let’s try to assemble another great group to attend this year. Come join us. It’s a great way to learn more about Unitarian Universalism. Any questions, please contact Holly Bussey at DA@uucwc.org.
