This is my fourth year serving as our community’s Treasurer, and per our bylaws we’ll need to elect a new Treasurer in June for a term starting in July 2019. The Treasurer is a member of the Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee (see the article by Joe Schenk for more information on the Finance Committee).
One of the things that I enjoy most about being Treasurer is the opportunity to work with many of our committee/ministry leaders, and through this, gain an understanding and appreciation of what goes into the workings of our community, and feeling that I’m a part of that.
The Treasurer’s duties include preparation of monthly financial reports, paying expenses (with assistance from the office Administrator), recording deposits, processing a semi-monthly payroll, and maintaining bank, credit card, and other accounts. We use Quickbooks and Excel spreadsheets for reporting and information tracking. Qualifications include comfort with working with numbers and spreadsheets and attention to detail.

- UUCWC also has an assistant Treasurer who prepares the weekly deposit. We are also seeking a person(s) to serve in this capacity.
