You Don’t Have to Be Happy

Is happiness all it’s cracked up to be? Is it necessary? Is it even possible? And just how many loads of laundry does it take to get there? Asking for a friend.

Patricia Hennigan is a candidate for Unitarian Universalist ministry, currently completing her Master of Divinity at Drew Theological School with a focus on chaplaincy. A UU for more than 25 years, she is a longtime member of the UU Congregation of Princeton, where she now serves as ministerial intern.

Before pursuing ministry, Patricia worked in corporate communications and event production. Her experiences with parenting, caregiving, love, loss, and the bewildering turns that life often takes inform her approach to pastoral ministry and her understanding of the many ways people navigate being human.

She is particularly drawn to ministry that helps people find meaning, connection, and belonging in the midst of ordinary, complicated human lives.
