Last month marked the fifteenth anniversary of my becoming a member of UUCWC, but it was a weekend that following October that made me feel connected to this community in a way that I didn’t expect. I read about the annual weekend get away to Kirkridge, located in the Poconos Mountains, and although I didn’t know anyone going, I signed up. I have returned almost every year since.
Kirkridge Weekend is a great chance for you to get to know other adult members and friends of UUCWC. There is lots to do, if you choose. Take a walk through the meditation labyrinth, attend a workshop or two, hike the Appalachian Trail, work on a puzzle, visit the megalith park known as Columcille, attend worship services, play games, experience a lot of laughter, fun and delicious food!
If you can’t come for the weekend, please consider being a day tripper and joining us for Saturday.
The cost is $180/person for the weekend and $45 for a day tripper. A deposit of $100 ($30 for day trippers) is due August 15th. Final payment is due September 15th. Scholarship money is available. Please contact me with any questions. Seburke3@yahoo.com
Further details for this annual retreat will be available over the summer.
