Food Ministry and Faith Expression and Funding Team Join Forces

By Holly Bussey, Council for Faith in Action

In November, two ministries within our Council for Faith in Action teamed up to address food insecurity in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Their coordinated effort focuses on two forms of support: collecting specific food items and providing financial assistance to local food banks.

Each week, the Food Ministry gathers, sorts, and delivers donations from the UUCWC community to partner organizations across both states. Monetary gifts, including 50% of Sunday plate offerings, are distributed through the Community Outreach Fund (formerly FEFT) to organizations meeting urgent community needs.
