By Scott Cullen, CrossCurrents Editor
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this summer edition of CrossCurrents. My vision was to create a special summertime edition because I receive fewer CrossCurrents contributions this time of year.
Here’s what I did. I emailed more than 100 members of the congregation a list of summer-themed questions and asked them, if they chose to participate, to respond to as many or as few as they were comfortable with. The response was positive and overwhelming.
I hope that, after reading their responses, you’ll get to know them better and those responses will serve as conversation starters the next time you see them.
Apologies to those I have yet to invite to participate. Once I began receiving responses, it became clear that space would be limited. As a result, I will publish responses to two of the questions in the September issue of CrossCurrents. I will also publish additional responses to the question What books are on your summer reading list? in September. That question generated the most responses by far. Clearly our congregation loves to read!
If I didn’t contact you when I sent out the list of questions, your response can still be included in the September issue of CrossCurrents by answering one or both of the following questions: How did you spend your summer vacation? and What has you excited about the upcoming church year at UUCWC? Email them to scott_cullen@verizon.net by Sept. 1.
Meanwhile, enjoy getting to know your fellow congregants better.
See you in September.
