Welcome Steve Ryan!

Although Steve Ryan has played for services at times in the past, I want to officially welcome him as our “new” pianist at UUCWC.

A graduate of Westminster Choir College, Steve has extensive background as a director, pianist and singer. He moved to New York City in 1992 to pursue a career in musical theater as a performer and toured with national Broadway show tours. Steve eventually transitioned from performer to music director and was on staff at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, performed at the Theatre-by-the-Sea, and had musical assistantships at Carnegie Hall and City Center. He also maintained a steady concert and church music schedule as a singer and provided direction for various a cappella groups. He co-founded the Hudson Valley Musicians, a group of pros and semi-pros who met to study and perform chamber music.

Steve moved to New Hope, PA in 2011 to establish a private voice and piano studio and has been involved in local musical theatre ever since. He serves as staff accompanist for the New Hope Solebury High School for their European tours. He was a private voice coach at Rider University and directs an a cappella quartet called “The Sugar Plum Parrys” at the Parry Mansion Museum.

We are all thrilled to have him on staff and look forward to his sharing his musical talents with us. With his filling in for Wendy Feaver and Erin Busch in the past, he seems like he is already a part of our community. If you haven’t already, please say hello and welcome him with a great UUCWC welcome!
