UUCWC Readies to Participate in General Assembly June 24-28

by Holly Bussey, Denominational Affairs

Like all other organizations, the Unitarian Universalist Association‘s General Assembly (GA) will be totally virtual this year. We’ve been “practicing” this for several years with virtual attendees and delegates, but this year—it’s going to be SUPER exciting!!

Now attending GA is even more affordable and opens the world for many to interact and see what our faith is doing on a larger scale. To experience different worships, hear new ideas, listen to prominent speakers and YES, there will even be a virtual choir if y’all want to sing.

One key element is the Sunday service on June 28. It will be the first time, perhaps, that all of the UU Congregations have the opportunity to worship together. UUCWC will be attending; watch for more info on that next month. Meanwhile, if you want to know more about GA and what ‘attending’ will be, visit https://www.uua.org/ga/off-site/registrants.

Programming is still being finalized: https://www.uua.org/ga/program. You can register at https://www.uua.org/ga/registration. Price is $150.

If you want to know more about the choir opportunity, please contact DA@uucwc.org.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!

One part of GA is doing the work of the association with regards to action, programs, electing officials. This year is no different and each congregation has delegate representation at GA. The number of delegates depends on the size of the church. UUCWC is entitled to six. I am happy to announce we have some great voters who have expressed an interest in volunteering to represent UUCWC during the business meetings:
Holly Bussey
Nathalie Edmond
Heather Edwards
Jamie Evanini
Regina Podhorin-Zellinski
Jim Sanders
Bernice Husk, Alternate

We will be in touch with more between now and June 24. Again, questions please contact DA@uucwc.org.
