The Holiday Season is a traditional time for giving. Here at UUCWC, we have a number of holiday food collections to support those in our community who are hungry.

Hunger can affect people from all walks of life. Many Americans are one job loss or medical crisis away from food insecurity – but some people, including children and seniors, may be at greater risk of hunger than others.

We’re now collecting Turkeys for TASK and Thanksgiving Baskets for HomeFront.

Turkeys for Task
The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen prepared 150,000 meals for the truly needy in Trenton and satellite locations in Mercer County.
One item that is a mainstay of their meal preparation is turkey. They can do so much with a frozen turkey:

• a dinner

• sandwiches

• turkey croquettes

• turkey soup

After a hiatus, it seems that local supermarkets are giving away free turkeys again. Why not donate your free turkey to TASK. You can also buy a turkey (at Thanksgiving sale prices) and donate it as well.

In past years UUCWC has donated 20 to 30 turkeys during this Thanksgiving Drive.
