Our Religious Education Program
Welcome to the Religious Education (RE) program at the Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing (UUCWC). A high quality religious education program is central to the ministry of this congregation. As Unitarian Universalists, we recognize that each of us is on a spiritual journey that begins when we are very young and continues throughout our lives. Children, teens, and adults have opportunities to nurture their spiritual and personal growth and to explore values that encourage love and fairness.
Religious education for children at UUCWC:
- Acquaints children with Unitarian Universalist history and encourages them to live in accordance with the UU seven principles and UUCWC’s eighth principle;
- Exposes them to the richness of the world’s religious traditions;
- Emphasizes the importance of engaging in social justice;
- Offers an opportunity to better understand life issues; and encourages openness to diversity and inclusiveness.
We recognize that our children are spiritual and religious beings and support them as they discover this throughout their lives.
