Join us on Sunday, November 17 for a mid-fall hike at Ted Stiles Preserve at Baldpate Mountain.
The property has been described by the Mercer County Parks Commission as “one of the largest and least disturbed tracts of woodland in our region [with] a variety of rare birds and wildlife … These elements of culture and ecology make Baldpate Mountain a preserve of both natural and historical significance.”
We will begin the hike from the parking lot on Fiddler’s Creek Road, Titusville, and walk/hike up the paved road to the top of the summit, then walk around and through the meadow and back down the road. Total hike will be about 2.5-3.0 miles. The view at the summit is beautiful and there may still be birds hanging about the meadow, so bring binoculars if you’d like.
Email outdooradventures@uucwc.org to let us know you will join us. We will start walking at 1:15 pm. Note the slightly earlier time. An interactive map with GPS information can be found here. Hike leader this month is Chris Piatek.
