Valentine’s Season Treat:
Love Letters To Be Performed at UUCWC on Feb. 21

Feb 10th, 2009 • Category: Fundraising

The Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing will present A.R. Gurney’s award-winning play Love Letters on Saturday, Feb. 21. Doors open at 7:00 pm with a dessert reception, followed by the performance at 8:00 pm.

A.R. Gurney’s Drama Desk Award-winning play traces the lives and love of two people from childhood to adulthood. The play is directed by K. Desmond Mosley, whose 20-plus years of stage direction has included numerous productions on both coasts. Mosley directed the UUCWC cast in its first performance of Love Letters in 2007, as well as a production at California’s Ferndale Theatre starring Rene Auberjonois.

This two-person play features local talent Jim Sanders and Holly Bussey, of Yardley, Pa., who performed Love Letters together in 2007. Sanders has performed in many roles, both singing and acting in New York urban and suburban centers. His roles include Michael in I Do, I Do, Guildenstern in Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar, and Mr. Applegate in Damn Yankees. He also has done voiceover work and has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Choral Society. Bussey has performed in various local venues, including Carnegie Hall, and has sung with such notables as Pete Seeger, Jessye Norman and Peter, Paul and Mary. Bussey recently formed a women’s a cappella quartet called uu4ia.

Tickets are $25 at the door. The admission price includes dessert and the performance. Reservations are suggested, and can be made at http://www.uucwc.org/love-letters. For more information, please call (609) 818-0682, extension 3, or (609) 737-0515.
