The public is invited to attend.
Rev. Charles Stephens will take part in an educational forum sponsored by the Hopewell Valley League of Women Voters. The forum will focus on the New Jersey’s affordable housing rules.
The keynote speaker will be Philip Caton, senior partner at Clarke Caton Hintz, an architecture, planning and landscape architecture firm. Caton is an affordable housing expert and his firm has helped several area towns plan for meeting their affordable housing requirements.
Rev. Stephens will be speaking about the social and moral impacts of communities having, or not having, affordable housing. He serves on the board of the New Jersey Regional Coalition, which actively worked for the enactment of legislation, signed into law last summer, that abolished regional contribution agreements and revamped New Jersey’s affordable housing policy. Urban policy expert David Rusk called this new housing law “the most significant one in the nation in the last 20 years.”
Hopewell Township Committeeman David Sandahl will be speaking about the economic impacts of providing affordable housing.
Please attend with your questions and your comments.
