Shared Ministry Within Our Faith Community

As another September approaches and summer winds to an end, our congregation gains the energy of autumn. There always seems to be a renewed level of vitality and a rededication to deepening our relationships within the UUCWC community. So it is that we celebrate with our Water Communion Ceremony on the Sunday after Labor Day. If you have been a member for years or are very new, I encourage each and every one of you to join us for our Services of Worship and sense the feeling of a community expanding with new, as well as old, trusted friends.
One of the things I deeply believe in is the importance of shared ministry within our faith community. There are so many important ways that our congregation ministers not only to one another but to the larger community. Your ministry may be in the area of making our Sunday Service of worship meaningful and vital through being a Worship Associate, singing in the choir or sharing instrumental music, you may be part of the ministry of hospitality through Membership, Building, Grounds, Technology, Fellowship, Communications or Caring activities. You may be part of the religious exploration ministry that happens with our children, youth or adult classes and activities on Sunday or during the week. You may be part of the ministries of administration through activities that support paid staff or help generate the funds that sustain our many in-reach and out-reach activities. Or you may be part of one of those out-reach ministries that make our congregation such a vibrant a dynamic and recognized force in our community(s).
I invite you to talk with me or one of the many leaders of our congregation and explore where you might feel drawn to share a bit of yourself and discover greater meaning and purpose in your life. There is a meaningful place for you no matter what your type or temperament might be, or how much time or energy you might feel you have at this time. I am confident that you will be glad that you followed your inclination to join in.
With Renewed Love and Warmth,
Your Minister,
Charles
Rev. Charles J. Stephens
